Walking along the tree lined park and around Cameron Bowl, opens up a serene world to take in the splendour of nature. You can walk here and totally forget about the pressures of your day. Walking around the trail to cool down or warm up to or from a long day. We are so lucky to have a Trail that is so well maintained by the municipality. It’s not built on a flood plain like Ballard Trail, but it is protected from the wind in a sheltered nook that empties into the Glace Bay Harbour.
In the Spring and Summer months, Renwick Brook trail is full of wildlife like Hawks, Comorants and lots of Ducks. I think I have seen some Canada Geese here too. In the winter however, it’s mostly just the ducks.
I don’t like to go out and walk in nature in the winter. Come to think of it, I hate it. I don’t like the cold, but something tells me I am missing out on a whole different side of forest bathing. Even though, I would love to be on a sandy beach, I may just branch out and explore the winter side of Renwick Brook Trail.
Winter in Glace Bay doesn’t have to be a cold, miserable place. I will keep you posted on my Winter in the Bay activities.
